Dear Readers,
I continued across the bridge to the island on Lake Akkala. After that I decided to go to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.
I met Stamm on this bridge. He had nothing different to say. The island itself was home to a Goddess Statue. I didn't stay long.
I warped to East Akkala Stable. I wanted to go to the tech lab and meet the director. On the way there was a Decayed Guardian. Very inconvenient! I got around it by walking along the cliff edge. There was some cover there.
I reached the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. It didn't look much like a lighthouse... Maybe it used to be towering but now it's just an ordinary building, albeit one with lots of metal junk around.
I went inside and chatted with the odd looking robot thing. Then I heard voices behind me. It was Robbie and his assistant. He didn't believe I was Link! He asked to prove it by showing him the wounds I suffered 100 years ago.
His assistant was named Jerrin. She said I had to prove it as well.
I had an idea. It was to take off my clothes and it worked! He accepted me as the legendary Link. He then introduced himself like he was a rock star. It even had a guitar riff and some audience cheer!
The music here is pretty cool by the way. It's all mechanical and industrial but in a quiet way like a single piano key tipping.
He asked if I met Purah and I said she was a child. It dawned on him that she messed up some experiment and that she was as crazy as ever. He asked if I knew the Calamity was regaining its power. I said I didn't and he offered to tell me his story. I said I wanted to hear it and he obliged. He said this research lab aims to destroy the Calamity and to rescue Princess Zelda who was now a prisoner of it. He was worried he'd die before I woke up but here I was! I said "Let's do it!" and we joined forces.
He offered to make ancient soldier gear, but Cherry, the oven I spoke to on entering, needed the blue flame from the ancient furnace. I asked about ancient soldier gear and he said it needed ancient materials that the Guardians drop, some rupees(he said quietly), and the blue flame. I asked about Cherry and he said that the oven was like his first love and shared her name. His wife wasn't impressed though! I asked about the ancient furnace and he said to get the blue flame from Tumlea Heights, put it in the furnace and then Cherry will be fixed.
I chatted more with Jerrin, who had also opened up to me. She did an impression of Purah and asked if if it was too much. I said no and she appreciated that. She said she was researching ancient shrines and said I needed to go to the left eye of Skull Lake. There's a shrine there. I asked about Robbie and it turns out she is his wife, though they're a century apart in age. They even had a son together. I asked about him and she said his name is Granté. I said I haven't seen him and she asked me to be nice to him if I saw him on my travels. Sounds mysterious. "The Skull's Eye" came up as a shrine quest.
I took a look at Robbie's Memoirs on the desk nearby. It spoke of the time when he and Purah took me to the Shrine Of Resurrection before going to Kakariko and eventually splitting up so they wouldn't be struck by the calamity at the same time. They set out to gather ancient energy at the Akkala and Necluda regions. It talked about their journey and noted it was at Fort Hateno where I was defeated in the fight against the Guardians. While he was lost in thought, Purah continued to Hateno Village without saying goodbye. He returned to Kakariko for his guidance stone and headed to Akkala, detailing his journey through Lanayru Wetlands, Ternio Trail, Shadow Pass, Ordorac Quarry, until he got to his lighthouse home. That was kinda strange Purah wouldn't say bye to him, especially since she insisted on having him escort her to Hateno! Anyway he got attacked by a Guardian but was able to dispatch of it easily, having studied them so much. I'd like him to teach me a thing or two! He got ready for the day when I would come back, so he had a routine where he carried the blue flame from Tumlea Heights and developed the ancient soldier gear. He automated the process by turning the guidance stone into Cherry. Throughout the years he met Jerrin, who had come here from Kakariko on Lady Impa's instruction to help out. Cherry developed a voice and he and Jerrin got married. Jerrin got upset over his interactions with Cherry so he restored the voice to a machine like state and stopped calling it Cherry, calling it ancient oven instead. Later on, Granté was born and they were happy for a while. The Calamity stuff was still going on though and Purah sent word that she was researching runes like Stasis, which encouraged him to keep researching ancient soldier gear. Granté grew up, doing the blue flame duty and eventually left to go see the world. Purah also said not to send anyone to her.
Wow! What a read! I understand stuff a little more now between them all. I'd like to meet Granté someday though.
I climbed up the lighthouse. It was a lighthouse alright, albeit a short one. There were some strange huts built around the outside of it and it looked strange and precarious. I kept climbing until I got to a lounging chair and found my 47th Korok Seed up here.
