Dear Readers,
After buying the Mystery Key, I headed back to Waterfall via ferry and unlocked Napstablook's cousin's house and went in.
Papyrus said their name was Happstablook, the happy ghost, according to his headcanon. Undyne told me to stop committing ghost crimes.
Anyway, inside this house were six diaries on the floor. The first talked about someone named Shyren becoming reclusive because her sister "fell down". I looked her up in my archive and remembered she was the mermaid thing I encountered here. The diarist reached out and suggested that they, her and Blooky should all perform together sometime, which was an idea she seemed to like.
The second diary talked about the diarist's desire to buy a new diary for every entry they made and they loved to collect diaries. Fine collection in here!
The third diary talked about their cousin leaving the farm to become a training dummy, leaving just Blooky and them. Blooky asked if they were gonna try to become corporeal too, sounding so resigned. They said they'd never leave Blooky and besides, they'd never find the kind of body they were looking for anyway... hm... interesting to see a kind of family tree here.
The fourth diary talked about someone interesting they met. They had posted an ad for their Human Fanclub and today was their first meeting. Just one other person came. She was a dork and was obsessed with these awful cartoons... must be talking about Alphys! They said she was kind of funny, too. They said they wanted to see her again.
The fifth diary talked about their fabulous five-strong diary collection!
The sixth diary talked about a surprise Alphys had for them. It was sketches of a body that she wanted to create for them. A form beyond their wildest fantasies. They said in that form, they could finally feel like themself. There was no way they could be a star the way they were at that point so they decided to go for it. They had an apology for Blooky, saying their dreams couldn't wait for anyone... A star? Must be Mettaton! Mettaton used to be one of Napstablook's family!
Wow, nice bit of lore there. I never would have guessed that Napstablook and Mettaton were related. They're like complete opposites, personality wise.
After this, I went back to MTT through ferry and Hotland's elevators.
