12 ONE THOUSAND LIES - ARCADE MASTER
Dear Readers,
Things continued in the arcade like they should... with fun games! There was a dancing game with arrows that Diniz was an expert at and afterwards, there was a shooting game with light guns. It was four player and the way it was described I couldn't really figure out what real life game it most resembled. Anyway, it was a long session and it came down to Ziva and me being the only remaining survivors.
Ziva then exploited a glitch and I was thrown out of the game, leaving her the victor. I did not react well! I stormed off outside...
Claire caught up with me and tried to comfort me. Luce came out as well and wasn't as comforting. In fact both of them wanted to confront me about something. About why I was always running away from things like this and my birthday party and about how Ziva feels about me. They didn't say it outright, but it's highly suggested that she does have a large place in her heart for me, that she's in love with me. That... would be pretty awesome but I won't call it yet... It's still pretty exciting though!
As for me, they wanted to talk to me about the scar on my leg. I uh... actually don't remember the scar on my leg being mentioned before in the story. I may have mentioned it before in this blog but forgotten about it.
After our chat, we went back to join the others.

11 ONE THOUSAND LIES - CLAIRE'S CONFESSION
Dear Readers,
I found myself splashing in the pool with a laughing, smiling Luce, her face flushed with joy and happiness. She looked really pretty, but I couldn't enjoy her company as I couldn't swim and was about to drown. I had to get out. It was a pity too, as she was opening up about quitting basketball and spending time with me doing her drawing.
Soon afterwards, I left this, my own party in a low key way.
On the way home in the dark I was being followed. It turned out to be Claire, who followed me from the party. She wrapped her arms around me and confessed her love for me. Oh my gosh... what a lovely scene!
The next day at school, Ziva was giving out to me about leaving my birthday party early. Being Ciarán, I ignored her and continued with Ausse on his "ideal woman" challenge. This time it was monster girls. It was the same problem where I couldn't get him to be turned off by a single type of female. In hindsight, monster girls may not have been a good direction to take this discussion. They're popular enough nowadays!
Ziva excused herself, saying she was going to meet someone, which was surprising to us.
Later on I was with Luce. We talked about Ziva and soon, we spotted her walking along with Diniz. We decided to follow them... It wasn't just Luce and me, but Ausse and Claire were in on the following as well.
We followed them to the arcade. It had the same lovely fresh music that the mall had when I was there at first. You know, like Sonic The Hedgehog going shopping for a fun event or something.
The bartender appeared. He was scary and very familiar. In no time at all we figured out he was the policeman from the other day, or at least a twin of his. Luce even brought it up, but the bartender seemed to become even scarier, though in a polite way. We all ordered our drinks nervously. What the heck was I doing ordering a whiskey? Claire ordered pineapple juice and ended up pouring it into my drink. I tried to dodge paying but eventually I had to cough up for all of us.
Ziva and Diniz found us and our snooping was for naught. It wasn't a big deal after all. They weren't up to anything other than organising graduation festivities.

10 ONE THOUSAND LIES - MEN IN SPEEDOS
Dear Readers,
Ausse didn't mind losing strip poker because he was happy to show of his body to the girls. I wasn't as keen though, especially since part of the deal meant us jumping into the pool with the stormy weather outside. I didn't have any swimwear since it was a surprise party, and all Ausse had were Speedos.
The visual novel didn't show anything graphic.
After the ordeal, Ausse and I were shivering to death, while the girls towelled themselves because our splashes got them a little bit. Lots of banter followed!
Later on, the weather calmed down and we went out by the pool. There was a lovely atmosphere with the lights and everything. I was chatting for a good bit with Luce and it was building up to a kiss, but my character did a bait and switch kind of thing and went to throw her in the pool instead. She caught a hold of me on her way in!

9 ONE THOUSAND LIES - BIRTHDAY PARTY
Dear Readers,
I was out and about with Claire again and she was her usual self. She was being sassy and defensive about stalking me. Same as usual.
Later on I went to Ausse's place. It's a very nice place too as he has a rich family. It's got a swimming pool and everything. There was no big reason to go there other than borrowing notes but then, all of a sudden I get a big "SURPRISE!" greeting. Everyone had planned a surprise birthday party for me! Woo!
Of course, being this protagonist I have to be all grumpy. They are all lovely friends to have really, despite how silly the banter can get. Ausse had it all planned; a nice pool party with the girls wearing swimsuits and everything. That's what he was hoping for anyway, but out of the blue, it started pouring rain outside, putting a damper on his plans.
Disappointed but not beaten, Ausse revealed a room with a big poker table, especially for the occasion and announced that we were going to play strip poker. Boys vs girls. Whoever loses has to strip down into swimsuits. The poker table had "One Thousand Poker" inscribed on it, which was a nice touch.
The poker game itself was pretty exciting and dramatic. You know when someone reveals a good hand, then someone dramatically one ups them and the next one does even better again? It was kind of like that and had lots of suspense. Like something out of say... Maverick.
Things were looking good but unfortunately, we lost! Time for the boys to strip instead!

8 ONE THOUSAND LIES - LATE LUCE
Dear Readers,
I hadn't opened up this visual novel in a while! I guess I was preoccupied with Sonic Dash before I eventually deleted it.
So I'm in the meeting with all of the others for a while before making an escape. Claire escapes too and later catches up with me. She was all shy around the others but she's not that way with me at all. She wanted to walk me home and knew the way because she has some kind of obsession with me. When I ask her about it in a roundabout way she says people can do what they want. I asked her about a package that was on its way to me and she claimed to know nothing about it.
The next morning I'm in the class with Ausse. He's very put out because of his "lover of all women" persona suddenly became challenged with Claire, someone who appears underage but is actually the same age as us. We had a chat about it and it leads to the topic about his standards when it comes to women. No matter how many potential flaws about women I can throw at him he keeps seeing a way to love the woman in that particular scenario. This banter is actually quite funny and it's nice hanging out like this. Ziva then comes in and jumps in on the conversation. This leads to me play fighting with her. The substitute teacher then shows up after getting the wrong idea from Ziva's screams. Oh well!
Later on, I went to the place where Luce and I now hang out together. I waited a long time for her but she wasn't showing up... I became worried and wandered around the abandoned building. I came to the piano room and was just about to play when she showed up, throwing her usual insults at me like as if it was a regular meeting between us. Pretty typical!
I was glad she showed up though... I was getting worried.
We hung out for a bit longer in the building and the second part of my written story followed.
It's where the wolf was still chasing the sun and met a snake who wanted to make friends with him but he was too cold and uninterested. She was disappointed when he left and he eventually gave up in defeat in his journey and laid down in the sand to die. Then, the moon came out and saved him. Then he raised his head and howled at the moon. It's quite a nice story to read in full!
It was a nice time hanging out with Luce as well, despite the insults. These characters aren't too bad after all!

14 SONIC DASH - LOST EVERYTHING AGAIN

I lost all my progress in this game again. This time the game crashed while playing an ad. This game often crashes after playing an ad but this time all my progress was gone when I started the game again. I didn't feel like playing anymore so I just deleted the game altogether.

1 RETRO GAME COLLECTION - ALIENS
Dear Readers,
On a whim I downloaded this app by Jacked Studios from the Play store. It loads nice and fast and has 5 games: Ping Pong, a version of Pong; Aliens, a version of Space Invaders; Snake, a standard version of Snake; Block Breaker, a version of Arkanoid or Breakout; and Meteors, a version of Asteroids. I really like it! One of the things I like so much about it is that it's white objects on a black background, so I can play it on a dark Winter's day without adjusting the brightness. The text is nice and big and everything has a no nonsense basic approach.
I tried a few of the games but mostly played Aliens. It's easier than standard Space Invaders but it's still fun to play. The buttons jam sometimes but it doesn't spoil things too much. I like that I don't have to keep tapping to shoot. As you advance the aliens start closer and closer until they go back to the top. I suppose this is what you'd call the loop. But yeah it is moreish to just keep going. My highest score so far is 29,850.

13 SONIC DASH - WON SILVER IN A WHEEL SPIN!
Dear Readers,
I have spun the wheel so many times in this game I was getting convinced that it was rigged against getting the character prize on free spins and spins earned by watching ads. Finally the arrow landed on Silver The Hedgehog and now I have access to him for good. Yay!

I've progressed into someone's house, which I suppose is Gargamel's. It isn't the final world for some reason. I'm pressing ahead with the levels now because it's taking ages to complete them 100%. I can always go back to them to get more stars anyway.

12 SONIC DASH - WON CLASSIC SONIC!
Dear Readers,
I finished the Classic Sonic challenge! Now I have the character for good. Another nice thing about this is when you go between classic themed stages and the regular dash stages the music switches between the Green Hill Zone and the regular dash music. So yeah it's a nice way to mix things up and keep it somewhat fresh.

11 SONIC DASH - CLASSIC SONIC CHALLENGE TWO THIRDS COMPLETE
Dear Readers,
I've been playing the Classic Sonic challenge for a good bit and already got about 400 of the 623 cartridges needed to unlock him.
Also, the bosses got harder but they're not too hard thankfully. You don't have to line up the circles exactly which is preferable as the game often stutters and lags.

10 SONIC DASH - CLASSIC SONIC EVENT
Dear Readers,
I got a nice surprise when I saw that there was an event to play as Classic Sonic from Sonic Generations and play in Green Hill Zone themed stages along with the music. If you collect Mega Drive Sonic cartridges you can unlock him without having to pay for him. They're labelled "Genesis" cartridges instead of "Mega Drive" ones though. There are Sonic & Knuckles lock on carts to collect among them.
I came back to the game after a while and I couldn't do this event anymore. Classic Sonic is still there but there's a price tag of EUR6.49 to pay for him. I thought I had 8 days to do the event? What's going on?
This free-to-play Android thing is getting more and more annoying :(
Wait... hang on... I just went in and out of the options menu and the event thing seems to have been restored. Baffling!
I'll still hang around and enjoy it.

9 SONIC DASH - HARDER BOSS UPDATE
Dear Readers,
I recently updated Sonic Dash and I found that it made the bosses harder!
Instead of tapping on the static target to hit them, I have to make two circles line up before making a move. This aspect definitely isn't easy any more.

7 ONE THOUSAND LIES - CLAIRE THE SHY
Dear Readers,
I was hanging out with Ziva who was still talking about the graduation event. She was very preoccupied with it. Later on we went to the classroom at the other school and met Claire. This was the first time I've seen Claire with other people besides just myself and she behaved differently. She's a lot quieter. Ausse couldn't believe she was around the same age as us, given how small and young she looks. He was having an internal dilemma about the type of woman he should be going for compared to that of the forbidden. It was amusing enough to watch.
We also finally met Diniz D'Cruze, an easygoing guy who's also taking part in the organisation of the event.

11 SMURFS EPIC RUN - STADIUM UPDATE AND UNLIMITED ENERGY FOR GEMS DEAL GONE
Dear Readers,
The update for the stadium is certainly interesting but first of all I must say I'm sad that I no longer have the option to buy unlimited energy for gems! That's a shame as I was saving up. It would've taken a very long time but I was saving up. It certainly makes you wonder about your approach for long-term plans in saving and conserving resources.
One blessing about the stadium update is I finally have a use for those tournament cards. Up until now they've been useless to me because I don't use Facebook. They cap at 99 and don't go over that amount unlike energy points, so it's best to use them when I get them.

10 SMURFS EPIC RUN - UNLOCKED SMURFETTE!
Dear Readers,
Today I unlocked Smurfette! Brainy wasn't kidding about her having the most impressive glide ability. She can stay in the air for ages!
Up until now I have mostly been using Poet Smurf because of his handy glide ability. Smurfette has an improved glide plus an extra heart. Other Smurfs like Papa Smurf have the extra heart as well. It reminds me of Rayman Origins as that game has the exact same feature.

I finally unlocked Papa Smurf! In order to do it I had to play the game every day for 30 days. A prize for consistent participation. I didn't have to pay coins or gems for him once he was unlocked at least. He has a permanent magnet and extra heart abilities.
I also progressed on to the snowy area. It's quite nice here and the Gargamel snowman is pretty funny! Some dash zippers are here too so that's a little bit of a twist to the gameplay anyway.

8 SONIC DASH - OVER 1 MILLION POINTS!
Dear Readers,
Thanks to doing some upgrades, I've finally exceeded a score of 1 million points! My highest score at the moment is 1,229,320.
Thanks to doing some upgrades, I've finally exceeded a score of 1 million points! My highest score at the moment is 1,229,320.
