1 FINAL FANTASY II - NO NOT THE SNES ONE!

Dear Readers,

It's time to move on to this sequel! This is the GBA remake of the original Final Fantasy II on Famicom, not the SNES release in America that was later corrected as IV in its subsequent releases.

We are Firion, Maria, Guy and Leon and our home got destroyed by an evil emperor. After getting caught and KO'd in an unwinnable battle, we came to in a secret hideout housing rebels to this emperor.

Firion is reuinited with Maria and Guy, but we got separated from Leon. We then met with Princess Hilda, the leader of the rebels and Minwu, the white mage who revived us. We learned about the whole situation, got advice on what to do first and are introduced to the game's keyword system. Lots of emotional and serious stuff already compared to the original Final Fantasy!

So yeah, the music is amazing. The revival theme has a nice chimey tune and suits the scenario of coming back to life in an unfamiliar place. The rebel army theme is just beautiful and inspiring and makes a great anthem overall.

You can see the hopes and sorrows in the characters' sprite faces when they close their eyes and bow their little heads. Unlike the first game, they went for depth and backstory of character. It's not about you anymore.

This really comes to play with the character portraits displayed in their dialogue boxes. They change expression depending on what they say. When I see this together with the keyword menu, it makes me think of "Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego?", or some other adventure game where you talk to people for clues.
