I've been itching to try out this lately and I wanted to learn how to play a few of these games too.
I fully recommend downloading the demo because it has a Connect 4 derivative that you can play anywhere with anyone on the same Switch. I've played it in pubs and cafés with friends. It's tidy and pieces will never go missing. I've been playing it for years and it is one of the best freebies. Everybody loves Connect 4 and I never went wrong with it.
I started up the main game after doing all the updates and it took me through a rigmarole of selecting an avatar and connecting to the internet and prompting me to join up for the online service, which is not what I like at all. I was able to get to the curated games menus on the cart eventually. It isn't service dependent for the basic stuff thankfully, only the online play.
I'd like to add that the DS equivalent of this, 42 All-Time Classics, is superb.
