Dear Readers,
On another floor of the Lifespring Grotto, we met some lovely mermaids! They all lived together on this one floor and were very friendly and chatty.
They were all excited about some weird dude that showed up looking for a legendary sword. Who else could this be but Gilgamesh? He's one of the few moments of comic relief the Final Fantasy series is known for. He's always looking for Excalibur, but the funny thing is we already have it and have since moved on to more powerful swords! Ah well.
One by one we had to talk to the mermaids to find clues as to where Gilgamesh went. Others were chatty about other things, like robot parts that washed ashore.
For our first run we met Gilgamesh in an area to the southeast. We just had to interact with the sword that was there and then he popped out to attack us.
He's not just an eejit! He can hit hard enough! Fortunately, it wasn't too much hassle dealing with him, just the usual hasting, attacking and healing. On defeating him we got the Genji Gloves, which I gave to Nova.
For our second run through this dungeon, he appeared in a spot beyond the locked door. It was kind of weird because he just popped out of an empty space.
