Dear Readers,
Death Manticore, number 158 in the bestiary, was what we were looking for next. It was actually on the same floor as the Unicorns in the Whisperwind Cove.
We didn't have a problem with the Death Manticore being a rare encounter or anything, but it would run away from us on sight before we got a chance to do anything, even if it was a group of four. We eventually defeated some by surprising them and getting the first hit in that way. They were kinda like Dragon Quest's Metal Slimes in that sense!
