Dear Readers,
I'm starting a new world called Mountain Temple! Level 5-1 is known as Pushy Platforms.
Dumpster Bear came here to relax after the stress of dealing with what happened to his ruined home, but now he has to deal with all the monsters came about due to the temple selling out to the evil corporation.
Some nice oriental style music here put together with a rocking and dramatic beat. This first level has a lovely horizon sunlit sky and some lovely gates and pagodas in the background. Fields are lush and green too, which is a nice change from the post-apocalyptic ruin of the last world.
This level has blocks that launch you into the foreground to die like in Smash Bros, which is pretty funny!
The first red salmon coin is near the first sliding block and can be seen. You gotta use a wall slide and jump to collect it safely.
Goodness me the creatures here are nightmarish. There's the skull with bat wings that kind of look like the Bubbles from Ocarina of Time, only they shoot orbs. There are also scrawny gremlin like creatures that have that wimpy whine like the wolves from an earlier world, but they look frightening! Kind of like bats without wings or like Gollum. They charge and bark like the wolves too and shoot orbs on top of that.
The second red coin is in a similar position but its wall is very short. Good timing needed here.
The spiky balls circle very tightly around their platforms now. Gotta duck to let them pass safely.
The target platform challenge is getting meaner as well. Three bumpers I had to deal with! Two that move slowly and one above them that jerks back and forth more quickly. My first attempt I could only score 28 points.
On my second attempt, I got on much better and scored 95 points.
Same with third attempt.
71 points on fourth attempt :/
95 points again on fifth attempt.
100 points on sixth attempt! :) Woo! That was satisfying to finally pull off!
