I had a go of this recently. It's the Mega Drive version and not the arcade game of the same name.
It's got some cool power ups and nice music. The game itself is pretty tough and a new screen of invaders can spawn a bit too close to the bottom.
The default score is 10,000 points. To start off, I beat this by earning 16,110 points before getting a game over.
Some other nice stuff like different enemy patterns and backdrops with planets and weird alien landscapes, so there's a pretty decent amount of variety here.
