4 asterix - round iv going south

Dear Readers,

We headed south at least, though it looked like we were bypassing the Italian peninsula...

This first stage in Round IV was a dark swampy forest but had a lovely upbeat tune. Kinda weird mixture but it makes the stage fun. Some alligators here pointing upwards with their mouths around sticks you have to jump across before they snap.

The key here I found while going down a warp pipe jar thingy.

Later on, a man who looks like Unhygienix was sitting in a jar throwing tiny snakes for some reason. There was a nice bonus stage on the platform above him. It was in a Mario style coin heaven and it looked like the Roman Agent was here to zap me with lightning bolts. Not sure if it was him or not. I don't remember him having any such ability in the comics.

Shortly afterwards the end of the stage came up.

The next stage took place along the walls of a Roman camp during a lightning filled night. Very upbeat music here too. One of the Romans was throwing stuff down at me like Lakitu.

Later on there were these giant cannons you can jump into and drop a bomb to blast you up into the sky for more goodies. Pretty cool to just fly out of them! Shortly after this was the end of the stage.

Then a bonus stage came up. It was as Dogmatix jumping on bubbles on an auto scrolling stage trying to burst them. It was pretty fun. Some bubbles had to be jumped on multiple times in order to burst them. Nice and fun little challenge.

The next stage was a castle stage with lots of warp jars. Some of them unknowingly lead straight to man-eating plants, which was pretty mean spirited!

There were also these obstacles where you had to time throwing bombs on an elevator block to blast different parts of walls. This is probably my least favourite part of the game. Trying to time these can be pretty annoying. You have to walk quickly too to throw the bombs further so you're always moving back and forth and hoping for the best.

Eventually finished the level and it was on to Round V :)
