After going in and out of the cave on Deist island several more times to heal, we finally found the pendant! It was in the weirdest place...
There are several floors and branches in this dungeon but we found a shiny golden Dragoon helmet which wasn't too deep into the dungeon at all. There we found the pendant we were looking for.
Up until now, we were exploring the rest of the dungeon which had many more floors, so it was kinda weird to find the pendant so soon. But then again, I guess the path towards it was kind of narrow and tucked away to the east as you enter the cave.
By the way, some annoying enemies here like Yellow Souls. If six of them ambush you at once, you have to sit through each one of their fire blasting attacks. Like the Red Soul, they absorb magic attacks too. Gah!
