Had another go of the Game Boy version on 3DS Virtual Console and improved my score. Not as high as Mark from Classic Game Room's score though!
At the end of his Pac-Man GB video, the score is 33,430. It'd be higher since he progressed to the next level instead of getting a game over, but he didn't record any more than that.
My new score is 30,030 points. An improvement on my previous score but still behind Mark's. I used different strategies such as using the tunnel that slows the ghosts down and the safe area above the ghosts' lair.
